It was my 3rd time seeing Dry The River, the first one being at Lowlands 2011, second at Bitterzoet in November I think? They're just as impressive as the first time I saw them, to be honest. It was one of the most fun concerts I've been to.
What is strange is how much better they are live than on record. And I really mean much better, very impressive. Somehow their energy doesn't come across the same way when they're not right in front of you.
I also really liked their connection with the audience, they're such a down-to-earth band. Making conversation (sometimes a bit awkwardly) on stage, and later hanging by the merch talking to everyone, signing CD's and taking pictures.
I guess I'm very happy I discovered them now that they're still small enough to see in a venue like the Melkweg :)
Of course we didn't miss our opportunity to pose with Scott (beardy bassist) and Peter (lead singer/guitarist)
With Naomi, Stephanie and Demi.
I was so excited to actually talk to them, I must have been saying incredible nonsense. I bought this tote bag though, and Lars who was also at the show but me their CD for my birthday :)
(now I don't have to feel guilty anymore!)
