I guess it was a bit of a risk to do it our way, but we had fun and we liked the taste of these little pillows of heaven ! (making sushi corny, how dare I.)
As soon as the rice was ready, we started preparing the filling! We sort of made it up as we went along (oops).
We sliced a raw tuna filet and marinated it in soy saus, salt-pepper and sesame seeds. This we combined with some lovely, fresh cucumber.
For a different filling we made a mix of surimi sticks, cucumber, suy sauce, salt-pepper and ginger.
So after a lot of fidgeting, and even more cleaning-up, this is what we had :
