lomography

Christmas 2009 I got my Diana+. It was such an exciting little toy, i felt really cool with my analogue camera.
4-5 rolls of film later, I realized that it's just not that easy. Most of the pictures failed because the light wasn't strong enough, other times I would forget the cap on (because when you take a picture you're not looking through the lens, just a plastic window), two rolls of film were destroyed by a dog (one of them containing pictures from Two Door Cinema Club's show :( ). Even when I did get a couple of nice shots per roll (which would cost around 7 euro, film+development, not including printing), then I would have to get my dad to scan them and clean them up and FINALLY I could see a result.
The question is, is it worth it? The effects are awesome, but then again a stroll down pixlro-matic lane can give very similar results. For free. Also, Lady Di+ is very very fragile.
Anyway, here are a few pictures I managed to take.

Dry The River

May 7th I was in the Melkweg, Amsterdam with some very awesome people, seeing a very awesome band.
It was my 3rd time seeing Dry The River, the first one being at Lowlands 2011, second at Bitterzoet in November I think? They're just as impressive as the first time I saw them, to be honest. It was one of the most fun concerts I've been to.

What is strange is how much better they are live than on record. And I really mean much better, very impressive. Somehow their energy doesn't come across the same way when they're not right in front of you.

I also really liked their connection with the audience, they're such a down-to-earth band. Making conversation (sometimes a bit awkwardly) on stage, and later hanging by the merch talking to everyone, signing CD's and taking pictures.
I guess I'm very happy I discovered them now that they're still small enough to see in a venue like the Melkweg :)

Of course we didn't miss our opportunity to pose with Scott (beardy bassist) and Peter (lead singer/guitarist)
With Naomi, Stephanie and Demi.
I was so excited to actually talk to them, I must have been saying incredible nonsense. I bought this tote bag though, and Lars who was also at the show but me their CD for my birthday :)
(now I don't have to feel guilty anymore!)
